My name is Lev Shevchenko, and I am a photographer. But to be honest — I am not just someone holding a camera. I am a collector of fleeting moments, a guide into the world of memories that stay with us forever.

My journey didn’t begin in fancy studios or at glamorous workshops. It started in the noisy kitchen of a steakhouse, surrounded by the scent of spices and grilled meat, while my thoughts drifted far away… toward light, shadows, and people I had yet to meet. I would look at the work of photographers the way others read books — trying to understand what it means to feel alive. I saw how a single smile, one glance, or a fleeting touch could remain with a person for a lifetime.

And one day, I understood: you cannot wait. Inspiration comes when you finally choose to believe in it. I watched every camera review on YouTube — not because I was searching for the perfect gear, but because I was searching for myself. And then, on an ordinary day, I walked into a store and bought my first camera — the Sony a7 IV and a lens. It wasn’t just a purchase; it was the first step into a new life.

My first photos were of what was near: city streets, the sky, the glow of streetlights fading at dawn… And then came people. Friends. Acquaintances. And I realized: nothing is more real than a person trusting you with their story.

Three months later, I did what once felt impossible: I closed the door to the restaurant and opened the door to the world of photography.

Today, I photograph families, newborns, expectant mothers, and couples. I don’t search for poses — I search for moments. The ones that happen between words, between movements, between a breath in and a breath out. For me, it’s not just about taking a beautiful picture; it’s about showing you that life itself is a movie — and you are the leading role.

Light and shadow are like music to me, whispering when to pause and when to take a step forward. I don’t just take photos. I remind you that you are real, beautiful, and alive.

Photography is my freedom. It’s my prayer, my way of speaking to the world. Through my images, I want to tell you this: there is beauty in every single day. There is warmth in every story. And every moment is worth preserving.
